If it is not picked up, I'd suggest you download the program anew from the Malwarebytes website to update it this way.

Locate Updates under scan status, and click on the link next to it there to run a manual check for update. If it does not, select Dashboard to go back to the starting page. There you find the Malwarebytes version, and more importantly for this update, the component package version.Select Settings > About in the interface.Open Malwarebytes on your system so that the interface of the program is visible on the screen. You can check the version of Malwarebytes in the following way: (thanks AJ North for the tip) Malwarebytes 3.0.6 Component Update 1.0.75
It may fix issues that you are experiencing, and may be worth a shot because of that. Since it is a preview, there is no word yet on the changes that it introduces. It is recommended to create a backup of important data before you install the preview update. I did not notice any issues installing it on a Windows 10 64-bit PC however, but your mileage may vary. It may not be stable, and you may experience issues installing it on a machine. Please note that this is labeled a preview.
This is the only option to update Malwarebytes currently. The download link has been posted on the official Malwarebytes forum. The preview update brings the component package version of Malwarebytes to 1.0.69. If that is the installed version, you will notice that the component package version is 1.0.50. If it is not, you need to update the software to the latest version anyway as newer versions are already available to the public. You find the information under Settings > About.Ĭheck the Malwarebytes version and the Component Package version. Malwarebytes 3.0.6 update to Component Package version 1.0.69įirst thing you may want to do is check the version information of the installed copy of Malwarebytes. Memory consumption of MBAMService.exe is still quite high, and it is not the only process that is used by the application. I have to monitor this more closely, but it seems indeed fixed in this release. On a personal note: I did experience the "Real-Time Protection turned off" notification issue, and it was quite annoying. At least some users who upgraded their version to Malwarebytes 3.0.6 are reporting that they are still experiencing issues including crashes, Access Denied Code 5 error messages during the upgrade, or that Web Protection does not start. Malwarebytes addressed several issues in this new version of the software. You may also check it out on the Malwarebytes site once the release history is updated. The full change log is displayed when you start the update.

So I now have Premium 3 trial running!! How can I revert back to free MB 2.2 or what ever is the latest free version? SEarch for Free MB keeps leading to this trial page. Went to the download page and got "mb3-setup-consumer-3.exe" from under the column saying free did not notice that, at the top were words saying Premium 3 trial Today opened MalwareBytes on that machine to see an update was available. Manually run the scan when I think I need to. So use the free MalwareBytes on that machine. I also have another Win 10 machine that is used very rarely for surfing and only to very selected websites. Firstly I have Malware Premium 3.0 on one Win 10 machine this is used for general surfing etc so needs real time protection.
